Alexander Graham Bell was an eminent scientist, inventor, engineer and innovator who is credited with inventing the first practical telephone. History tells us that Bell kept company with some of the finest minds of his time. This is a practice we should emulate, surrounding ourselves with a core group of strong supporters and wise minds – people that care about us, celebrate us, and want to see us win.

Everybody wants to be associated with winners, so be careful! Choose your key allies, and advocates you can count on to help you. The power of this core group can build the momentum you need for progress and success. These are the people that will support you in good times or bad, and help bring your vision to reality.

Shape your circumstances and goals with people that believe in you and your ability. Give them reason to be attracted and committed to you: a great attitude and charming disposition, a winning spirit, and confidence in your progress. Progress is compelling and contagious. Be attractive enough to cause others to bring you to the front.

Five Keys to Building a Support Base:

  1. Let your bright light shine to attract others to you.
  2. Enjoy the good people around you!
  3. Be an energy that people miss when you are not around.
  4. Be present for others – show reciprocity.
  5. Pray often and always to be surrounded by good, talented people.
